Egypt Warns Against Sudan Fragmentation, Rejects Parallel Rule

Egypt has rejected attempts to establish a rival government in Sudan, warning that such moves threaten the country's "unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."

Sudan has been engulfed in a nearly two-year war between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), creating one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. In February, the RSF and its allies signed a charter in Kenya to form a "government of peace and unity" in areas under their control, a move criticized by Egypt, the UN, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar.

Egypt called on all Sudanese forces to prioritize national unity and engage in a comprehensive peace process without external interference. The RSF's actions have been condemned as exacerbating Sudan's fragmentation and deepening its crisis. The UAE, accused of supporting the RSF, has yet to comment.
